Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Well i finished the main campaign last night and i have to say that even though it was short, it was quite simply one of the best gaming experiences i've had in a long long time. Every level was excellent and the story was gripping all the way to the end.

I also played the special op's mode with my son and again it's excellent and a great edition to the whole package. It's a shame there was'nt a campaign co-op mode but the special op's mode was a really good substitute. Also, the Star's system is great and will keep me coming back to it for a long time.

And finally i tried the online multi-player mode. And this is where it truly excel's. Modern Warfare 2 truly is the ultimate online game. I only played for a few hours but those few hours were the best online gaming i've even played (well, since my Diablo 2 days anyway). This game is the new benchmark in online gaming. Forget Halo 3, this is the best.

You may of recently read that Xbox Live had 2 million users online at one time because of this game and it's little surprise because Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a masterpiece and well worthy of the hype.

A truly epic game in every way.

Forum: Gaming Uncensored

For shame!

This is what multiplayer co-op should be. I have enjoyed this singleplayer, 4-player online co-op and split screen coop.

This game is a right blast, and I am ashamed no one here has mentioned playing it.

Hit me up before i get bored of this game... it could be the type of game one would/could get bored of, but I think it is the camaraderie between players that can make (or break) the multiplayer experience itself!

-BC

Forum: Gaming Uncensored

Uncharted 2 GOTY?

I know that Call of Duty will probably be the game of the year just because it is going to be in every system but Ive been playing Uncharted for a whole week, and i have to say that this game is incredible, it is waay better than the first Uncharted.
There has been some steep graphic improvements (not like it need it any),
they gameplay is also tweak and you can control Drake better.
The voice acting is superb just like in the first game, they have a great voice cast.
I like it because the characters dont just talk in cut scenes but they also make comments or have funny conversations while you explore.
The music feels very much like a movie on Indiana Jones or a action adventure, the music goes very well with the action and the exploration of the game.
Besides Metal Gear , Uncharted feel like a movie and a game , the story line is good to follow, and very fun , it can easlily translate into a film.

One more thing, the multiplayer is amazing, at first when i heard that they were adding this feature i was kinda skeptical because the single player is what drove the first game and felt that it was tacked on but that quickly change when i went online and started playing, there is so many game modes, it isnt just another Deathmatch, its more than that , the modes feel very much like Uncharted, with treause hunting, and King of the hill , and the co-op modes as well.

Even my co worker saw the trailer from IGN and told me about it , he said that he told his girlfriend that he wanted a PS3 with the game Uncharted , now that is a system seller.

Games like these is what defines the PS3, there is no way u can have this in any other console

Forum: Gaming Uncensored

Risen

I was in my local GAME store last Friday purchasing Operation Flashpoint 2 when i came across a game that i had never heard about before which is quite surprising for me considering it was an RPG. Looking at the screenshots at the back of the box it did'nt look that great, in fact it reminded me a little of Two Worlds (one of the worst RPG's i've ever played). However, i thought i'd take a chance and got it.

I'm very glad i did because Risen is quite honestly the best Fantasy RPG i've played since Oblivion. The game was released with zero marketing, no pre-release reviews and it has'nt even got it's own forum on Xbox.com but it's one of the best games i've played this year.

The graphics are'nt bad, it has a good story which will take about 40 hours, countless side quests and an huge open world that is on par with Oblivion.

If you like RPG's, i highly recommend you check out Risen. It's this years sleeper hit for RPG fans.

Forum: Gaming Uncensored

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

I've just got Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. Here are my thoughts.

The graphics on this game are definitely on par with the latest crop of fps out there.
Then add on top of that the incredible draw distance this game supports and it's gone from "on par" to jaw dropping in what it's accomplished.

I've never played a fps this big that manages to look this good.

This is not an arcade shooter (which is almost all that the 360 has featured so far). You are not a bullet sponge. You can't hide behind a corner and wait for your health to magically replenish.

This a true tactical simulator. Its goal is to authentically recreate the scenarios and variables of combat. It's intended to be played much like a game of chess. The satisfaction is designed to be derived from utilizing your fire team and fire support to infiltrate enemy positions, not from killing everyone on the battlefield all by yourself. I think the attention to detail (not necessarily graphical) is incredible. The way your heartbeat increases as you run until it's pounding through the controller. The fact that you can no longer run after you've received a leg injury. The momentary visual disorientation of standing up and laying down.

The realistic time it takes to swap out a weapon or change firing modes. The ability to order individual members of your fire team instead of just group orders. The ability to select formations and spreads (and if you don't know what those are or when to use them then you probably really won't like this game.) The fact that bullets are coded as actual objects with velocity and trajectory instead of using the traditional "hit box" method.

All these things and more combine to create a very visceral experience and I've been completely impressed by it. I'm not trying to dog out games like COD or GoW. They ARE great shooters. I'm just saying that this game is the complete antithesis of those kinds of shooters. It's target audience are those who enjoy the challenge that comes from simulated realism more than the fast paced reaction based blockbuster titles.

I definitely think Code Masters outdid themselves with this game. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Highly recommend.....as long as your hardcore enough.

Forum: Gaming Uncensored

Left 4 Dead 2 and.....Depeche Mode?

The zombie apocalypse isn't where one expects to find Depeche Mode, so it was a little surprising to me to see Rochelle, one of the new Survivors in Left 4 Dead 2, sporting a pink Depeche Mode t-shirt.

Surely, I thought, when first seeing the band's likeness and logo emblazoned on her tee, that wouldn't last very long. But that Depeche Mode cameo is intentional and it's authorized. Chet Faliszek, co-lead and writer on Left 4 Dead 2, says that Valve solicited bands and record labels for the sequel, but Depeche Mode was one of the few who responded.

And it appears they responded in a big way, with Faliszek explaining at Comic-Con that the band was very free with letting Valve use its likeness, its audio recordings, and, obviously, its t-shirts in the game. Probably a smart marketing move, considering the band just launched an album and constantly reminding a few million Left 4 Dead players of the band's existence can't hurt.

Faliszek didn't expand on how, or even if, Depeche Mode would be employed beyond the outfit of the "cool 80s chick," but we're hoping for a well-hidden cameo.
We'll definitely be on the look out for any zombies that even slightly resemble Dave Gahan, just in case

Forum: Gaming Uncensored

Gaming Uncensored, the Politics Show Edition

I, myself, would LOVE to hear this show!

Whether or not you realize it, Jamie is wayyy more conservative than Tommy, and frankly I would find it GREAT radio to hear Tommy "liberal-leaning" logic smack down Jamie's conservatism.

While neither of you two are extreme in either direction, there is a clear dichotomy between your beliefs based solely on my impressions of listening to this show for the last 3 years.

I absolutely love you guys and your show, and if being from Texas and living in Tennessee and being labelled by a Nebraskan as "liberal" is an insult... please forgive me. It is hard enough living in NE being an outspoken and proud liberal, but apparently there is some neo-conservative war on the word "liberal" that has been going on for the last 20 years. See mAnn Coulter for plenty of colorful examples.

Regardless...
I think a little research done by you guys, I think you would probably realize you're both more left leaning than probably you realized, with the exception of gaming regulation issues, which... I am probably on that side, too... but me personallly, I would NEVER compromise with a right-leaning anti-regulation video game supporting public servant. To me, the issue of gaming regulation is NOT nearly as important as issues such as war, health care, gun control, safe food, safe cars, the environment, etc...

So that being said, put me down as a "yes" to tune in when you decide to pull the trigger on the politics show!!

Best of luck and to future good shows, from BCRenton, the guy with from the "Sell-Out" posts like over a year ago!

Peace!!

Forum: Gaming Uncensored

It did everything the hardcore Batman fan wanted in a Batman Game.

The graphics are excellent and the story is great, but the gameplay is perfect....you really do actually feel like Batman.

....Now if only someone would create the perfect Punisher game for the 360 on this style it with be the best game ever!!!

check out my Batarang!!!

http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/3958/modelset3.jpg

Forum: Gaming Uncensored

Scribblenauts is bloody awesome!!!

I just got Scribblenauts yesterday and i can officially say that Scribblenauts is the best game i've ever played.....period!!!

It has countless puzzles and you basically have infinate ways to complete them. My children and I have even had hours of fun creating our own levels.

Here's one example of a level i created this morning. You have to get past a pirana infested swamp and then kill a pack of zombies to finally get the star to finish the level.

Almost everything i type into this game is here from medusa, terroristes, hoverboards, jetpacks, RPG's, Jet-boots, steampunk goggles, trenchcoats, shotguns, chopper bikes, flamethrowers, chainsaw, and here's something awesome i found out, if you type portal, it creates the said portal and spit's out random creatures and monsters, oh and there's even a Time Machine that takes you to random places in time...this game has everything!!!

There's infact 22,802 items in Scribblenauts. Here's a link to ALL of them:

http://rush68.net/u/files/scribfull.txt

If you own a DS, you have to get this game!

Forum: Gaming Uncensored

Bethesda sues Interplay over Fallout

Three years after licensing the Fallout intellectual property in 2004, Bethesda Softworks bought it outright for $5.75 million from Interplay, which created the franchise. Under the terms of the deal, Bethesda licensed the rights to make a Fallout massively multiplayer online role-playing game back to Interplay, with the caveat the fallen publisher had to start full-time development within two years. That deal imploded in April, when Bethesda, dissatisfied with Interplay's efforts, revoked the Fallout MMORPG rights.

This week, the Bethesda-Interplay disagreement was elevated to a legal level, when Bethesda filed suit in federal court in Maryland. The suit accuses Interplay of 10 counts of breach of contract and trademark infringement by not abiding by a trademark license agreement (TLA) it had with Bethesda. The first was in relation to the Fallout MMORPG, which stipulated that Interplay had to have raised at least $30 million in funding for the project by the end of March 2009. As evidence such fund-raising did not occur, Bethesda points to a June 30 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission which said Interplay had $2.54 million in debt and only $16,000 in cash assets.

Bethesda's complaint also claims that, 11 days after being informed the Fallout MMORPG license had been revoked and it could not enter into a deal with any third parties, Interplay formalized a deal with Bulgarian studio Masthead to develop the MMORPG Project V13.

The second part of the suit accuses Interplay of riding the coattails of Fallout 3 by re-releasing and repackaging older Fallout games without permission. Specifically, it says that the company was selling a compilation of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics as boxed products called "Fallout Trilogy" and "Saga Fallout." The packaging of any such new boxed product needed to be approved by Bethesda, which claims it never did so. Bethesda also feels the name "Fallout Trilogy" was deliberately misleading consumers into thinking the compilation contained Fallout 3.

Finally, Bethesda accuses Interplay of entering into deals with several online game distributors without its consent, violating the licensing agreement yet again. GameTap, Good Old Games (aka GOG.com), and Valve Software's Steam service

are all named as outlets which sold Fallout products without any permission from Bethesda, in violation of the licensing agreement.

Bethesda is demanding the court formally declare Interplay no longer has any rights to the Fallout name or trademark. It also wants the court to place a preliminary and permanent injunction on Interplay to stop it from selling any Fallout-branded products. It also wants Interplay to submit in writing a declaration that it no longer has any rights to the Fallout brand. No monetary damages are being sought.
Source: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6217290.html?part=rss&tag=gs_news&subj=6217290
Forum: Gaming Uncensored

Evony - The Softcore E-Porn

Discussed by the the dynamic duo and the Sexy Sidekick, Evony was described as porn. It may be their religious Southern sensibilities, but it did not appear to be "porn" per se. That being said, it was certainly provocative.

Relating to the game, here's a Kotaku article.

http://kotaku.com/5345584/evony-devs-sound-a-bit-iffy
Forum: Gaming Uncensored
